The Language of Faith: salvation - guide

Open with prayer then throw out this warm up question:

● Was there a particular event or experience in your life when you believe you became a

believer in Christ?

The word from our “language of faith” that was the focus of the sermon is the word “salvation.”

● How have you heard the word “salvation” used?

Read each of these passages and determine how salvation is used:

● Luke 1:76-78 Zechariah is speaking of John the Baptist. What is salvation connected

to?

● Luke 6:6-9 When Jesus speaks of what it is to “save life” what did he mean?

● Luke 19:1-9 How did salvation come to Zacchaeus?

Heather shared the meanings of “to be saved” and “salvation” are healing, restoration and being

made whole.

● Given these meanings, how would you respond to someone who asked if you have been

saved?

● Is salvation a one time thing or a continuous reality?

● Where do you need to be made whole?

Close by praying for our world, our church, and for one another.
