Framing Thought:

As we continue in Stories Jesus Told we come to a parable that Jesus told because of a request

from someone in a crowd who was listening to his teaching. Again, instead of teaching various

principles and steps, Jesus gets his point across with a story.

Warm Up Question:

● What is a good life?

Read Luke 12:13-15

● Why do you suppose the man shouts this question to Jesus?

● Jesus tells his disciples to watch out for all kinds of greed. How would you define greed?

Read 12:16-21

● What are the man’s goals?

● The man has gained his abundance honestly. He is successful. Why would God call him

a fool?

● Do you tend to see your life as a gift from God or something you have earned to do with

as you wish?

● Where do you have abundance in your life? What resources do you have plenty of?

● Based on this story of Jesus, what is a good life? Is that different from other messages

our society tells us?

● What does it mean to you to be rich toward God?
