ASSEMBLY REQUIRED: ASSEMBLY SENT - GUIDE

Share the high points and the challenging points of the week for each person. Then spend time

praying for one another, our nation and our world.

● When you hear the words “mission,” “evangelism,” and think about what it means to

share your faith, what associations come up for you?

The text for the sermon was Matthew 28:16-20. Read the passage.

● How does this passage sound to you? Does it bring comfort? Encouragement? Fear?

Challenge? Peace? Tension?

● It says that the disciples doubted even as they worshiped. What doubts and

uncertainties do you sometimes have even as you worship Jesus?

● Jesus says “Go.” What is your “world”? Where are the places you go?

● Heather said that we are not sent to impose ideas but to invite people to a shared way of

life. What do you think of this?

● In the sermon, we were encouraged to be agents of belonging, healing and hope. Have

you been this in your “world?” How might you be such an agent in your “world?”

● What is your context and what are the dynamics where you represent the Lord? (i.e.

work, home, family, groups, individual relationships, school, hospital, engineering firm,

club, etc.)

● How can we honor the cultures in which we find ourselves and make the gospel real in

those places and for those people?

● Read Galatians 5:22-23 and the fruit of the Spirit. How can these things guide how we

live Jesus’ commission?
