Sunday Serve is an opportunity for us to come together and worship Jesus a bit differently than normal. This is an opportunity for us to collectively build our reputation in this city as a people who seek the well being of Salt Lake. We don't want that reputation so we look good, we want that reputation because we want to be faithful in telling the story of Jesus together. Jesus cares about our schools, Jesus cares about refugees and kids with special needs, Jesus cares that teachers are supported in the work they do everyday. As we show up and help with menial tasks, we tell that story.

So don't miss it. It’s not a day for us to take a break from church; it is a day where we get to live into the vision of what it means to be the church, the people of Jesus to our city.

WHITTIER ELEMENTARY

Whittier Elementary is in the heart of the Liberty Wells Neighborhood.  It serves students between 1300 S to 2100 S, 500 East to 500 West.   It's a Title 1 school so it is supported additionally with Federal government funds.  This helps provide really great programming for the kids, but also represents the social economic challenges many families face.  We'll be going to support Mr. Ramon, the head of maintenance at the school, who has been working there for many years.

Our tasks will include cleaning, raking, picking up trash and doing tasks around the building.

Kids of all ages welcome!
