Weekly Update 1.3.19
January 3, 2019
One Family Worship Service. This Sunday, we will meet at 10am, rather than having two services. This gives us the opportunity to be together, eat together, celebrate God and worship together. SilverMoon Taqueria Food Truck will be here with their amazing tacos. We look forward to seeing you!
New The Peoples Theology. How do we live a distinct way of life as the people of Jesus? How do we tell a different story with our lives? Rest. But for us to truly rest, the way Jesus is inviting is us too, requires risk and risk is hard, there’s no way around that truth. But a life without a risk in trust and rest is harder––emptier. We’ve already spent so much time running the course of our world, grasping for promises that melt into air. So in that sense, what do we have to lose? If we can find a moment of space in the crashing commotion we realize it’s just that, commotion. We’ve been offered so much more––a kingdom of abundance with a table at its center. All of us are welcome, everyone is invited to taste and see but the question is, are you willing to take the risk? Subscribe at iTunes,Stitcher, or Google Play.
New High School House Church. Beginning January 9th, we will be rolling out a House Church for high school students on Wednesdays at 6pm. They can come hungry, because there will be food and drinks for them there. The Mauers (2010 S 2200 E) will be hosting, and Bo Corbin and Susanna Phinney will be leading. For more information or to let us know your high schooler plans on coming, email Nate.
Volunteers for Missio Kids. Are you a friendly, energetic person who enjoys working with kids? Sign up to volunteer at Check-in or in our Elementary or PreK class. There are exciting things happening in Missio Kids so to join us, email us here.
