Weekly Update 8.2.18

August 2, 2018

If we want to know how God feels about us we need to look at Jesus and watch the way he loves, embraces, and challenges the people around him. If we want to know how we should engage with the world, we need to look at Jesus and see how he always moves towards those he encounters. Join us this week at 10am as we continue in our series, Exclusion & Embrace.

Can't join us? Listen to the sermon here.

This Sunday, we will meet for ONE family worship service at 10am (rather than having two services).  This gives us the opportunity to worship all together.  We’ll mark the day special with a unique liturgy and afterwards enjoy food from the Silver Moon Taqueria food truck. See you Sunday!

Randall Johnson will be officially installed as an elder THIS Sunday. If you'd like to meet up with Randall to talk to him, please e-mail him HEREor call him at (775) 722-1388.

In celebration of his newest album GIVE ME THE TRUTH, Dominic Balli will be performing an intimate show on August 3rd at 7:00pm in the Cafe. Dominic’s music is a combination of SoCal pop, reggae, and soul with deeply personal lyrics and stories. GIVE ME THE TRUTH came out of the most difficult season of Dominic's life after the loss of their baby boy Nehemiah, who was born with a birth defect. "GIVE ME THE TRUTH is collection of HONEST songs. For me. For my sanity. And ultimately for my healing. These songs are my journey to find the truth in life, death, God, and myself.”   Tickets are $15. Purchase them here. Sponsored in part by Utah Worship Community.

Amped VBS starts next week at Missio Dei. We have 31 kids signed up to play games, do crafts, and learn about how full the life Jesus offers is! Please be praying for these kids as they spend their time in our building - for safety, open hearts, and curious minds. If you'd like to jump in, there's still time! Email Anna to find out more. And thank you for all your support this far!

As you buy supplies for the upcoming school year, please consider picking up a few extras for Missio Kids! We are always flying through things like crayons, colored pencils, white copy paper, cardstock of all colors, scotch tape, masking tape, glue sticks, scissors, sticky notes, craft sticks, stickers, dot markers, stamp pads, and pom poms. Generally speaking, if your child's school classroom can use it, so can we at Missio Kids! All donations are greatly appreciated! You can drop off supplies with the Missio Kids Check-In volunteer.
