2.18.18 Reflection & Liturgy

Add heading copy.png

Each week, we gather as a community to witness to the work of Jesus in the world. Sunday aren't just about seeing friends (though that's great) or drinking good coffee (though we do have the best). Sundays are about experiencing and practicing the Kingdom of Jesus. By gathering together around the table we show the world that God is doing something and, at the same time, we learn what it looks like to practice and participate in this thing Jesus is doing. Each piece of our service is a part of that experience and practice.

Doxology & call to worship

Missio, today we gather because of the gospel;
We heard it, we received it, we stand in it,
And we are every day being saved by it.

We gather because of the good news that
Jesus, our God in the flesh, died for our sins,
was buried and raised just as God promised.

We gather because this new reality changes everything;
We are a new people united in Jesus--
rescued, redeemed, ransomed, and renewed.

We gather today, in the name of
Our Present God
Our Living Savior
And the Empowering Spirit.

Missio, this is your call to worship.
Amen.

Benediction

Missio, our sins have been forgiven;
Our story, like Israel’s, doesn’t end in grief
But in grace, goodness, and renewal.

Missio, our sins have been forgiven;
We are a new people living in a new reality
Called be a new name with a new mission.

Missio, our sins have been forgiven;
Go now, a community constituted by grace
And extend all that God is doing to all the places you go.

Go now, in the name of
Our Present God
Our Living Savior
And the Empowering Spirit.

Go in peace and be the church this week
Amen.
