1.28.18 Liturgy & Reflection

Each week, we gather as a community to witness to the work of Jesus in the world. Sunday aren't just about seeing friends (though that's great) or drinking good coffee (though we do have the best). Sunday's are about experiencing and practicing the Kingdom of Jesus. By gathering together around the table we show the world that God is doing something and at the same time, we learn what it looks like to practice and participate in this thing Jesus is doing. Each piece of our service is a part of that experience and practice.

Doxology & Call To Worship

Today, we gather to hear anew The Story of our Creator;
To know, deep in our hearts the good news of redemption, rescue, and renewal.

Today, we gather to see the Kingdom of Jesus in our midst;
To taste, touch, hear, and experience the reality of God’s work.

Today, we gather to respond to the good our God is doing;
To sing, pray, listen, and break bread from hearts in transformation.

And today, we gather to be formed into the people of Jesus;
A people who love with all our hearts, because we have first been loved.

Today we gather in the name of;
Our Present God
Our Conquering King
And our Comforting Savior.

Missio this is your call to worship.

Missio, we are a people constituted and formed by Jesus
That doesn’t end as we leave this place
But defines us in all spaces.

In work, in school, in neighborhoods, and even at home
We are sent the people of YHWH
A community of distinction.

What makes us distinguishable? What names us distinct?
Nothing, but hearts that are being transformed
Hearts compelled by love.

Go this week, a loved people who out of hearts renewing
Seek to extend the love and presence of Jesus
In all places to all people.

Go this week, named by our
Present God
Our Conquering King
And our Comforting Savior

Go in love and be the church this week.
